Insanity
Can you hear that?
Those voices -
Those demonic, frightening voices
Dull vibrations, static noise
Clear as misty fields in the dead of winter
Screams so loud they may shatter my skull
With their deadly bassline
Can you see them?
Why can't you see them??
Distorted faces, rotting flesh
Pitch black eyes and gaping wounds
Hidden in a corner; fetal position
"Our Father who art in heaven -
Hail Mary, full of grace."
It isn't real
This can't be real!
Futile reassurance lull me to sleep
Grasp my wrist and paint a perfect picture
Agonizing howls ring out into the night
Left with the scars of their mutilation
Silence falls as the knife hits the floo

Love is only neurobiological
You're accusing me of breaking your heart,
But honey, don't you realize
That something only consisting of muscles
Can't exactly be broken
Your heart is nothing but a
Hollow organ providing your body
With blood
Through pulsative contractions
You're talking about love
But sweetheart, don't you know
That love is nothing but a chemical reaction
Elicited by your brain
A collection of messengers send out
By the same area that controls
Your drive
And now manages your emotions with dopamine
You're complaining about your shattered dreams
Well darling, let me enlighten you
Those dreams of yours are nothing but
Information travelling

Yowza. Excellent work with compressing the dark and all-too-true side of romance into six words, yet retaining the emotional impact. I love the monotonous, deadpan tone of voice of the narrator.
I imagine it to be a lighthearted scene with his plague-bearer latching onto his shoulder, whispering into his ear, and then he says this.
Like I said: Yowza. And Thanks.
